1. ABOUT THIS COOKIE POLICY
This Cookie Policy explains how DropDesk LLC (“DropDesk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you access or use the DropDesk Platform through our websites, a DropDesk-operated marketplace, or a Branded Marketplace Powered by DropDesk.
This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined in this Cookie Policy have the meanings given to them in our Terms of Service.
2. WHAT ARE COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES?
Cookies are small data files placed on or accessed from your browser or device when you visit a website. Cookies and similar technologies allow websites and online services to recognize a browser or device, maintain sessions, remember preferences, understand how services are being used, improve performance, and provide functionality requested by users.
We may also use similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels, tags, software development kits and other technologies that perform similar functions. References to “cookies” in this Cookie Policy include these similar technologies where applicable.
3. HOW WE USE COOKIES
DropDesk may use cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure the DropDesk Platform and the marketplaces Powered by DropDesk, including to:
- maintain and authenticate Member sessions and Accounts;
- enable Users and Hosts to access and use Platform features;
- facilitate Packages, Bookings and other marketplace functionality;
- support Loyalty Programs, Loyalty Discounts, Coupons and related marketplace features;
- remember preferences and settings;
- maintain security and help detect fraud, abuse and unauthorized activity;
- understand how the Platform and its marketplaces are used;
- diagnose technical issues and improve Platform performance and functionality; and
- provide integrations and services necessary to operate the Platform.
Information collected through cookies may be associated with your Account or other information about you where necessary to provide, secure, analyze or improve the Platform, as further described in our Privacy Policy.
4. TYPES OF COOKIES WE USE
4.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies.
These cookies are required for the Platform to function and may include cookies used for authentication, account access, security, fraud prevention, transaction processing, load balancing and other essential Platform functionality. Because these cookies are necessary to provide the services you request, they generally cannot be disabled through our cookie controls, although your browser may permit you to block them. Blocking them may prevent parts of the Platform from functioning properly.
4.2 Functional Cookies.
These cookies allow the Platform to remember choices and preferences and provide enhanced or personalized functionality. For example, they may remember marketplace, location, language, login or other settings.
4.3 Analytics and Performance Cookies.
We may use cookies and similar technologies to understand how Members and visitors interact with the Platform, measure traffic and usage, diagnose problems, and improve the performance, design and functionality of our services. These technologies may be provided by DropDesk or by service providers acting on our behalf.
4.4 Advertising or Targeting Cookies.
DropDesk does not use cookies or similar technologies to sell Personal Information or to track Members across unaffiliated websites or applications for third-party targeted advertising, unless we expressly disclose such use and provide any notice, consent or choice required by applicable law.
This Cookie Policy does not prevent DropDesk from using information concerning a Member’s activity within the DropDesk Platform to provide, personalize or improve the Platform, a DropDesk marketplace or the relevant Branded Marketplace, as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. BRANDED MARKETPLACES AND MARKETPLACE PARTNERS
When you access a Branded Marketplace Powered by DropDesk, DropDesk may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Platform and enable the functionality of that Branded Marketplace.
The relevant Marketplace Partner may receive information concerning activity within its Branded Marketplace where reasonably necessary to operate and administer that marketplace, facilitate Packages and Bookings, administer Loyalty Programs and benefits, provide Member support, analyze marketplace performance or perform other functions described in our Privacy Policy.
A Marketplace Partner’s receipt of information necessary to operate its Branded Marketplace does not, by itself, mean that DropDesk uses cookies to track Members across unaffiliated websites or applications for advertising purposes.
If a Marketplace Partner independently uses cookies or similar technologies for purposes outside the DropDesk Platform, those technologies and uses may be subject to the Marketplace Partner’s own privacy or cookie policies and applicable law.
6. THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS
DropDesk may use service providers and technology partners to help operate, secure, analyze and improve the DropDesk Platform. These providers may use cookies or similar technologies when providing services to DropDesk.
For example, we may use analytics providers to understand Platform usage and performance and payment service providers, including Stripe, in connection with payment and transaction functionality. Information processed by third-party providers may also be subject to their applicable privacy policies.
We require service providers receiving Personal Information from us to process that information consistently with their applicable contractual obligations and applicable law.
7. YOUR CHOICES
You can control or delete many cookies through your browser or device settings. Most browsers allow you to block cookies, delete existing cookies or receive notice before certain cookies are stored.
Blocking or deleting Strictly Necessary Cookies may prevent you from logging into your Account, making or managing Bookings, processing transactions or using other features of the DropDesk Platform.
Where required by applicable law, we may provide additional controls allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. Your choices may apply to the browser or device on which they are made and may need to be renewed if you delete cookies or use another browser or device.
8. CHANGES TO THIS COOKIE POLICY
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our technology, services, marketplaces, legal requirements or privacy practices. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above.
